Monsoon Effects Persist Across Country: Heavy Rainfall Expected in Several Provinces

Kathmandu: The impact of monsoon winds continues to be felt across Nepal, with varying weather conditions expected in different regions. According to the latest weather forecast bulletin issued by the Weather Forecasting Division, the low-pressure line of the monsoon is positioned near the average location in the west and slightly south of the average location in the east.

Currently, the weather is partly to generally cloudy across the country, with light rain occurring in isolated areas of Koshi, Madhes, and Gandaki provinces. The Division predicts that this afternoon will see continued cloudiness, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning likely in several regions, including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as parts of the other provinces. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in isolated locations within Koshi, Madhes, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The forecast for tonight remains similar, with the likelihood of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in several provinces, including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini. Heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of Koshi, Madhes, and Gandaki provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is anticipated in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with heavy rainfall possible in select areas of Koshi, Madhes, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has advised the relevant authorities to take necessary precautions against potential disasters, such as landslides, floods, and soil erosion, particularly in vulnerable areas.
